Csilla CSEKE
1968, Budapest
She started her career as a photojournalist at the state news agency MTI in 1986. From 1992, she was on the staff of the weekly newspaper Köztársaság and later studied abroad on a scholarship in Eastern Europe, the United States and the AP bureau in Zurich. From 1995, was a photographer at daily broadsheet Népszava. In 1997, with a Reuters Scholarship she studied at the University of Missouri, gaining work experience at the London and Washington offices of Reuters. From 2002 she was picture editor at Manager Magazin, and later women’s interest magazine Nők Lapja Évszakok; and she played an active part in the launch of the gossip magazine website Story Online. In 2010 she returned to MTI as head of the photography department. She has won numerous awards at the Hungarian Press Photography Competitions.
