Emőke KEREKES

1980, Sângeorgiu de Pădure, RO

She graduated with a degree in photography from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in 2010. Her works typically consist of visually complex, long-term photo projects. Taking the mechanisms of the culture of memory as a point of departure for examining the past, she studies the connection between the individual and their environment, their relationship with the land, in the context of the identity problems of the various social classes. The visual language of her themes is typified by a blend of documentary, conceptualist and experimental photographic style elements. Mentors: Magdolna Vékás, Béla Kanyó. Solo exhibitions of her work were held in Cluj-Napoca in 2015 and the Kolta Gallery, Budapest in 2019.
