Gyula BEZZEG

1983, Srbobran, YU

He graduated in Novi Sad with a degree in philosophy, then worked as a secondary school teacher in Subotica. At present he lives and works in Budapest. His genres of choice are the classic portrait and nude; and in recent years conceptual and abstract variations of these have started to feature among his works. His pictures often focus on the relationship between the living and non-living world. He has featured in several group exhibitions (Novi Said, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Athens), presented his works at a solo exhibition in Subotica and published in the journals Híd and Refoto. In 2017 he won first prize in the nude category of the Balkan Photo Awards in Sarajevo. He has been photographing Vojvodina-born artists since 2019.
