The Rudolf Balogh Award-winning photographer Ákos Czigány has been a member of the permanent circle of artists of the Nessim Gallery since 2009 and the Várfok Gallery since 2014. He graduated in 1995 from the Faculty of Humanities at Eötvös Loránd University. In 2010 he received a Lucien Hervé and Rodolf Hervé Award in Paris, and also took third prize at the International Photography Awards. In 2011, he won both second prize and the special prize at the Leica Gallery FRAME011 international photography competition in Prague. In recent years his works have featured at numerous exhibitions abroad (Paris, New York, Torino, Frankfurt am Main, Prague, Würzburg, Bratislava) and in Hungary (Hungarian National Gallery, Hungarian Museum of Photography, Mai Manó Ház – House of Hungarian Photographers, Szent Stephen’s Museum, Várfok Gallery).
