Ágnes SZÉL

1944, Budapest

She graduated as an architect from the Technical University in Budapest in 1968. She began taking photographs in 1984. She first photographed buildings, small towns, villages and cellar villages and then her interest turned towards objects and nature. She approaches her subjects through their details. Light plays an important part in her works and it was in Péter Botos’s glass sculptures where she can best exploit the play of light; this has played an important part in her photographic art since 2011. Her oeuvre exhibition was held in FUGA Budapest Centre of Architecture in 2018.
